Copywriting and Creative Strategy for Sonic

For Sonic’s first festival activation, I worked with a team to help concept, write RFPs, pitch, and execute a live event idea that would be fun and engaging while withstanding the summer heat.

The result? The Sonic Drive-In Range–a singular pop-experience at Bonnaroo that provided a refreshing escape.

This mini golf course included Sonic-themed holes, a clubhouse that served up slushies and other exclusive treats, all decked in iconic rock music motifs and of course, Sonic branding. The result? Almost 14,000 attendees stop by each day of the festival, with 3,100 mini golf participants, 13,900 mini slush samples distributed, and 2.3 million TikTok videos with 219,000 engagements. This activation not only was a hit with the fans but also went on to become a winner at the 2024 Ex Awards (Silver).
